Siberian ravioli -- also known as pelmeni -- are authentic Russian dumplings, similar in size to ravioli.
They are made with a few basic ingredients - flour and eggs for the dough, and raw ground meat seasoned with onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Usually prepared in large batches, Siberian ravioli are kept frozen until ready to eat.
Cooking pelmeni is quick and super easy - just boil for a few minutes in hot water.
Fully cooked pelmeni can also be pan fried for a richer flavor. Serve veal pelmeni piping hot with a dollop of sour cream or ketchup.
