Salo is a traditional Slavic food made of pork fatback.
This lightly salted salo is cured following a traditional recipe and can be compared to bacon.
This was my first time trying salo. I found it to be delicious))) I ate it on black bread(rye) with mustard, garlic, salt and pepper. I found no reason to wash the salt from the salo.
It has a little bit of extra salt (it is covered with salt), but I just washed it out with cold water. Overall it tastes great and it is the finest quality salo, juicy and tender...melts in your mouth. I would highly recommend to all!
